THANK YOU – 2016

7th Annual Remembrance Run

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Thank you to everyone who made the 7th Annual Remembrance Run a success!  We truly appreciate your support and your part in making this a truly unique 5K.  We can’t thank our participants enough for coming out year after year in record numbers from all over Iowa and surrounding states to honor Iowa’s fallen service members.

Thank you to our sponsors:  Fareway, MidAmerican Energy, Hy-Vee, Green Family Flooring, Renewal by Andersen, Iowa National Guard Officers Auxiliary, Enlisted Association of the National Guard – Iowa, AnimeIowa, BCP Live, Casey’s General Store, a memorial donation made in memory of 1LT Malcolm “Scott” Baraibar, The Freedom Rock artist, Bubba Sorensen, and to Julie Wyssman and Amanda Justice-Petersen for their photography of the event. We appreciate your support!

We could not make an event like this happen without our volunteers.  We truly appreciate them taking time out of their schedules to come help make this event a success.

We believe we have the best finish line around and want to thank Mid-American Energy Company for once again hoisting our flag above that finish line.  It is truly a beautiful site and special to have it displayed at this event.

We would like to also extend our gratitude to those who made our Honoring Iowa’s Fallen program special and thank them for their individual contributions:  Brenna Maher for sharing her story about her husband, SGT Brent Maher, to Charlie Sherpa of Red Bull Rising for reading our Roll Call, Chaplain Skip Manus for the invocation, our bugler, Jake, for flawlessly playing TAPS, White Doves of Iowa for the moving dove release and Eddie Hatfield of KJJY for starting our 5K.  We would also like to thank Nic at BCP Live, Inc. for the program sound system and post-5K entertainment.

We were honored to work with Survivor Outreach Services – Iowa again this year and be a part of the Annual Retreat for Iowa Families of Fallen Service Members.  It is truly a blessing to be a part of this event and watch it grow year after year.  We are honored to have so many family members join us at the Run to honor their loved one.

Again, thank you to EVERYONE in making this event a success.

Sincerely,

Iowa Remembers
