Remembrance Run Details: To Our Registrants
Thank you for registering for the 3rd Annual Remembrance Run. We have more than 800 people signed up for the event, and we’re expecting more 1,000 people at the event! We’re excited to have such a great turnout, and hope to make it a positive experience for all of our participants. Most importantly, we look forward to joining you on Sunday to honor Iowa’s fallen heroes.
We will regularly post updated information and announcements about the Remembrance Run on our website and on Facebook.
You may look up your bib number prior to packet pick-up. With so many registrants, it is necessary that you know your bib number for packet pick-up. We will also post the list of bib numbers at the pick-up locations.
Packet pick-up will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (at Stoney Creek Inn in Johnston) and on Sunday morning from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. (at Biddle Shelter at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines).
Due to the policies of our chip timing company, chips can only be picked up on Sunday. Your chip number will match your bib number, and there will be a separate line for people who have already picked up their packets Saturday. Chips will be picked up by volunteers following the race, and there will be a $10 fee for chips not returned.
8:30 to 9:45 a.m.: Packet and chip pick-up
9:45 a.m.: Honoring Iowa’s Fallen program
10:00 a.m.: Start of 5K
10:30 a.m.: Jethro’s BBQ starts serving lunch to participants as they complete the 5K
11:00 a.m.: Brother Trucker performs
Parking will be available at Raccoon River Park near the shelters, and there will be overflow parking adjacent to the area. Parking is not permitted at the softball complex.
What to Bring
Feel free to bring your lawn chairs and blankets for the Brother Trucker concert after the 5K. Because parking is so close to the location, we encourage you to keep items in your car for use after the race. No skateboards, skates, scooters, or bikes will be allowed. No pets are allowed, as we are featuring Paws & Effect service dogs in-training. Strollers are permitted. Iowa Remembers will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
