The 7th Annual Iowa Remembrance Run (a 5K Walk/Run) was held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 (Gold Star Mother’s Weekend). The Iowa Remembrance Run honors Iowa’s fallen service members since 9/11 who were casualties of war from Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn. We also honor Iowa service members who have died during that time due to injuries received while serving, PTSD* or while serving on active duty.
THANK YOU to our participants, sponsors and volunteers
for making the 7th Annual Remembrance Run a success!

Proceeds from the Iowa Remembrance Run are used to fund the Annual Retreat for Iowa Families of Fallen Service Members. The retreat is a private event for family members in Iowa who have lost a service member and is organized and hosted by Survivor Outreach Services – Iowa. The meeting provides the families with useful resources and support, and facilitates a peer network for the participants.

Our Mission: REMEMBERING AND HONORING THE FALLEN – Iowa Military Casualties of War from Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn. THEIR SACRIFICE, AND THAT OF ALL OTHERS WHO HAVE DIED, WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. We also advocate action and awareness of issues surrounding Iowa’s military personnel.
